This elegant open-air meditation hall is located on the remote northwestern section of Finca Guaraguao above the river El Rio Guayanes. Equipped with electricity, running water and folding chairs, it seats up to 40 people, and can be rented for longer or shorter meditation or yoga courses and retreats from February to April. Accommodation is available in nearby Casa del Mundo (a beautiful 10-minute walk away) and in camping areas elsewhere on the property. It can also serve as a camping site itself to accommodate larger groups. In January it is used for our annual month-long meditation retreat for individuals and groups from around the world. Inspired by meditation instructor, Kadam Morten Clausen, renowned resident teacher of Chakrasambara Meditation Center in Manhattan New York, Papo launched into the construction of the Peace Pavilion, El Caney, in the winter of 2008 and completed it in time for our first group meditation retreat at the end of March 2008. A lovely, winding trail, down the hillside, through the jungle, leads you to La Flecha, a small picturesque swimming hole in the river. Restrooms/composting toilets are also available on the site. “I had the opportunity to attend the meditation retreat in March of 2008, when the Peace Pavilion, El Caney, was just built. It was perhaps one of my most memorable experiences to be sitting in the heart of the tropical forest in an exquisite, open-air pavilion and engage in group meditation while surrounded by such pure natural beauty."
